Requirements To Join
Getting added to the Queer vTubers Feed is easy. The only requirements are:
1. Be an active creator.
This includes streamers, artists, and video content creators.
For our purposes active means that you are currently creating the content. If you are setting up a debut and have a date set for it, that can work too.2. Use An Avatar.
Live2d, 3D, PNG... they're all avatars and if you use one to represent yourself then you count.3. Be a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
We're not here to gatekeep who's queer and who's not.
If you identify as part of the community then we're generally going to accept it. There are, however, exceptions. (For instance, MAP is not a queer identity.)4. Don't be Toxic
This is the one that gets more vague. Unfortunately we're not going to try to give specific definitions because people will just try to justify how they aren't breaking them.
At the end of the day, the feed is meant to create community. If you're harming that community then you're going away.
BONUS TIP
If you're making a post that shouldn't be on the feed you can just put the text
nofeed
in your post and it won't show up!
Things Not Allowed
As the feed has gotten bigger we've started having to deal with things that come up.
The Feed does filter some keywords. Mostly these are added because people are doing things that are not inherently toxic but flood the feed with things that often aren't even related to them or that make the feed unreadable. Getting caught by one of these doesn't put you at any risk of being removed.
Link Shorteners such as bit.ly that are being used to avoid people's filters (e.g. using them to avoid a filter for gofundme for instance) is removing people's ability to curate their own experience and may result in your removal.
Tag your adult content. Sex Work is Work and sex is normal, but we don't have magic age gating on social media and not everyone wants to see everything all the time. Please remember to flag your adult content. Sometimes we make mistakes but if I get a lot of complaints about one person in particular, I may remove you.
The Queer vTubers Feed is a community feed, not an advertising feed. If you regularly post promotional material and never interact with anyone on bsky other than in your own posts, you aren't being part of the community.
(Clarification: We are talking about extremes here. Posting promos several times a week but not replying outside your own threads for a couple of months. Taking a hiatus is fine. Having a busy week or two is fine.)Finally, if I remove you I'm not going to bother telling you. When you message me because your posts aren't showing we can talk about it, but if you don't even notice then it wasn't a loss to anyone.
So How Do I Join?
There are a couple options. Choose whichever works for you!
Keep in mind that I run this feed alone, so it might take a couple hours to get back to you.
1. Send a message on BlueSky to @menagerie.show.
Hi, I'm Menagerie and I run the feed. My direct messages are open so just send a message telling me that you'd like to be added and I'll usually just skim your profile and add you from there!
Please send me more than "Hi!" We all know how bad spam messages can get, so let me know what it's about off the bat or I might not respond.2. Outreach Posts
Blind messaging people can cause a lot of us anxiety (me too), so occasionally I make an "Outreach Post". They're pretty straightforward. If you're nervous about messaging me you can reply to one of these and I'll take it from there!
Please make sure your reply actually says you want to be added. A lot of people post 'Hi, I'm queer!' and while I'm really happy for you... I don't know what to do with that.3. After Being Added
Really, that's it. Remember to save the feed so you can find it again easily and I'd appreciate it if you could toss a like on it so others can find it easily.
About And Links
When I joined Blue Sky what I noticed was that everyone seemed to be trying to just find each other by posting into the void. I was burned out by Twitter/X and just wanted to find a place where community and actually being social on social media was a thing again. One of the best things about Blue Sky is the lack of algorithm. Nobody is shoving the 'trending thing' down your throat. On the other hand, that means we need to find each other. The Queer vTubers Feed is my attempt at that. It's a place for us to find others we share something with and talk to and support one another. You don't need to follow me to join. I love having the follows, but it's not some weird requirement. If someone is making you follow their personal/promotional account to be on their feed then that kinda tells you what the feed is really for, imo.Lastly, I hate policing. I don't want to kick or ban people. I'm not looking for reasons. However, if you see something that really worries you please message me (profile link below) and I'll look into it.
